About the Artist
Nicole S J Rankin studied Fine Art, Photography and Graphic Design at Nene College, Northampton. Although, studying at college did not realise in a job in the industry, using her creative skills Nicole moved into IT and later into creating newsletters, marketing materials and websites for West Midlands based companies under the banner of NIXY Creations.

It wasn't long before her real passion began to creep back from her childhood days, drawing and painting animals. Initially, Nicole began to draw animal portraits in graphite for friends, but still there was something missing from her drawings, real creativity and freedom.
With a love of horses, Nicole found herself owning, riding and teaching again. However, a three level spinal fusion has stopped her from achieving her dreams of becoming a dressage star and she makes do with breeding and showing her pedigree Devon Rex Cats instead. With this new found passion, Nicole began to digitally paint cats again, something she hadn't done for many years. Nicole still loves the creative side of marketing work and is always on hand for small businesses to create websites as well as marketing materials for cat clubs. Along side her artwork, Nicole also creates crystal trees, made from a combination of wire and gem stones a talent she learned whilst on working Summer holidays in Cornwall as a teenager.
Nicole has to share her days representing her Husbands business by managing the accounts for the MAYSTAR Group with the help of the office cats, Faith, Lillibet, Flaire, Viktori & Pearl. Lillibet also has her own Catnip toy range 'LilliLongLegs', so there is never a dull moment at Maystar!
